Benefit from losses...
If you have investments that have DECREASED in value since you have owned them, you may want to consider selling them (thereby creating a tax deductible loss) and then giving the cash proceeds from the sale to the Eaton County United Way.

This can result in tax deductions that total more than the current value of the investment. The cash gift can be used to eliminate tax on up to 50% of your AGI.

Check with your advisors for more information about tax-favored gifts of securities and other assets.

LIVE UNITED...EATON COUNTY

I am D’Lynn Smith and I live in Charlotte, Mi with my husband Jeff. I have 4 children, Dominique, DJ, Drew and Dane.

Since I was a junior in high school I have worked in some capacity with children.  I have taught pre-school, provided home day care, worked in the juvenile detention system and now am a community coordinator for Early Childhood Connections.

I am proud to be a partner with and contributor to Eaton County United Way.  My drive to educate parents and the community on the importance of early child development and to provide educational opportunities for young children is supported by United Way.

Sharing my time to promote early learning and giving to United Way is how I LIVE UNITED.
